KANSAS CITY, KS – The Kansas City Tornadoes announce the signing of Renaldo Major, a 6’9/190 lb. forward for the 2019 TBL season. A tenacious defender, Major creates match-up problems. He has the ability to play the 2, 3, or 4 and can hit the outside jumper or slash to the basket and score. With his abilities to defend and score, Major has an extensive background having played in the G-League, CBA, USBL, and the NAPB. Major is the all-time leading scorer in the G-League, having scored 5058 points.

Major graduated from Chicago’s Carver High School. A highly recruited athlete, Major attended South Plains Community College before transferring to Fresno State. At Fresno, Major averaged 10.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. After Fresno, Major began a long and distinguished professional career.

Major played for the Gary Steelheads (CBA) to begin his professional career. Later that same year, Renaldo helped lead the Dodge City Legends to the USBL Championship in 2005. He was selected 2nd Team All-USBL. He returned to the CBA in the fall, playing for both the Sioux Falls Skyforce and the Gary Steelheads. In Spring of 2006 he returned to Dodge City, once again reaching the USBL finals. Major was selected 1st Team All-USBL and USBL All-Tournament Team.

He was drafted by the Dakota Wizards (D-League) in 2006 averaging 18.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. As a result of his play Renaldo was called up to the Golden State Warriors on a 10-day contract. He earned numerous D-League honors including Defensive Player of the Year and 1st Team All-D League. He was selected to the D-League Ambassadors in 2007. Renaldo was with the Denver Nuggets during training camp in 2007-08. A health problem forced Major to sit out the season. He returned to Dakota for the 2008-09 season, averaging 17.0 points and 5.4 rebounds per game as he helped lead the Wizards to the D-League semi-finals. In 2009-10, Renaldo averaged 12.7 points and 4.6 rebounds. In his final season with Dakota, 2010-11, Major averaged 15.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

In 2011-12 Major signed with the Bakersfield Jam. He averaged 14.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, earning a call-up with the Los Angeles Clippers. In 2012-13, Major played in Mexico before returning to the Bakersfield Jam. He averaged 13.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for the Jam. He helped lead Bakersfield to the D-League West Conference Championship. He began the 2013-14 season in Finland, returning to Bakersfield in February, finishing the season with the Jam. In 2014-15 he returned to Bakersfield and averaged 9.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. His final season in Bakersfield was 2015-16, averaging 6.2 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. The 2015 team were the D-League Showcase Cup Champions and finished 2md in the D-League Western Conference.

He signed with the G- League’s Reno Big Horns for the 2016-17 season. He averaged 5.1 points and 1.7 rebounds per game for the Big Horns. For his career in the D-League (G-League), Major played in 401 games. He averaged 12.6 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game. He shot 0.502% from the field and 0.32% from the three, while shooting 0.80% from the free throw line.

Renaldo spent the 2018 season with the Yakima SunKings, helping lead them to the NAPB Championship. For the SunKings, Major averaged 15.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.

Major currently has G-League records in the following categories: Points Scored (5058); Most Games Played (400); Most Minutes Played (11,555); Most FG Made (1,702); Most FT Made (1,486); and Most Steals (502).
