The Kansas City Tornadoes congratulate Chief Operating Officer Otis Birdsong who has been selected to be inducted into the Class of 2018 National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.

Otis Birdsong made the University of Houston’s record books, tallying 2,832 points from 1973-77 and still ranks 15th in Division I history. Averaging 30.3 points per game, he led UH to the NIT title game as a senior and was named the Southwest Conference Player of the Year and a consensus All-American.

After completing his eligibility at the University of Houston, Otis Birdsong was selected No. 2 overall in the 1977 NBA Draft by the Kansas City Kings. His 12-year NBA career included the Kansas Kings, The New Jersey Nets and the Boston Celtics. Birdsong played in four NBA All-Star Games and was a member of the All-NBA Second Team.

The 2018 National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Celebration, presented by Nike, will take place on Sunday, November 18 in Kansas City.
