The Kansas City Tornadoes will host Media Day on Thursday, January 3rd, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the newly renovated HyVee Arena, formally known as the Kemper Arena. The media will have the opportunity to interview the coaching staff, meet the players, and the dance team who will be available for autographs and photo opportunities. Media Day is free and open to the public.

“It’s a whole new ball game for the Kansas City Tornadoes this season—with a new head coach and new players. We are looking forward to playing at the Hy-Vee Arena that was once the home of the Kansas City Kings” said Otis Birdsong, President of the Kansas City Tornadoes. “The Tornadoes consists of players from colleges across the country to continue their basketball careers and move on to the next level.”

During their first season, he Kansas City Tornadoes were in the North American Premier Basketball League (NAPB), which has recently become The Basketball League (TBL). The TBL requires all teams to have a heavy focus on impacting their respective communities. A value far greater than financial return. The Kansas City Tornadoes will compete against eight teams that will expand to 14 teams in the 2019 season.

NEW HEAD COACH – Eddie Corporal, who was the Assistant Coach for the Kansas City Tornadoes during the 2018 season, will be the Head Coach for the 2019 season. Corporal enters his 31st year in Coaching. He was the Associate Head Coach for the 2005 ABA World Champion Arkansas Rim Rockers.

A pre-season game is set for 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019, admission is free. The 2019 Kansas City Tornadoes season home opener will host two games against the Raleigh Firebirds on Friday, January 11 and Saturday, January 12 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are now available!
